Non-Romantic

Sat, 09/08/2018 - 03:06 -- Aegis

It's been fun, and short-lived

The night

And I feel alive, surprised

Tonight

But before we sink into a desperate fix

Can we sit and live this moment of no bliss?

Hold me with your words and not your hands

Move me with your mind not by dance

Lift me without moving any bones

Listen without picking up the phone

Show me what your secrets are inside

Taste me foul but still with me abide

Show me that you love me without hands

Teach me how to love with no romance

We walked and I tried to heal your broken mind

You mentioned you were lonely deep inside

I tried to make you feel so not alone

But you had stirred a heart of hardened stone

I offered questions, concepts to wake your eyes

They widely gazed deep-eyed into mine

You searched my soul for moments and I know

You saw the deepest part I'd ever hold.

And so I asked you....

Hold me with your hands and not your heart

Show me that you care but only part

Teach me that I have life inside my bones

Help me put away my distracting phone

Take these dirty secrets stuck inside

Push my evil parts all to the side

Help me feel a God that's up above

A God that gives me non-romantic love
