Nocturne

Sat, 08/31/2019 - 23:55 -- A Finch

Sleep well? I won’t, I can’t at all.

How can one sleep as stars pass by

In everlasting sprawl,

In rise and subtle fall.

It seems no matter what I try,

I look on, forever on

At the starry sky.

In innocence I’m drawn

To dream, to gaze upon

A universe I can’t defy.

It seems I’m evermore to love

That interstellar lullaby.

Awake as the heavens move

Yet dreaming of stars above

Without ever knowing why.
