No Tears
Last night, I had a dream
that there were no homeless.
There were no pedophiles,
no murders,
no failures,
no losers.
There were no car wrecks,
no teen suicides,
no unexpected deaths,
no drug dealers,
no crimes,
no sorrows.
There were no illnesses,
no diseases we couldn't cure,
no heart attacks,
no bombs,
no haters,
no wars.
There was no depression,
No prejudice to be spoken of,
no anger for any reason,
no pollution,
no rape,
no torture.
There were no terrorists,
no abusive relationships,
no destructive behaviors,
no tears,
no guns,
no bullies.
There were no bad messages.
There was no graffiti,
no injustice
there were no gangs,
no holes in society.
There was nothing to fight for,
nothing to fight against,
nothing to hope for,
because everything was perfect.
There was no friction.
And it was boring.
