No Looking Back

Nothing in sight but empty road,

It's smooth black without fault.

Trees surround leaving their shadow,

Every sign of life has come to a halt.

Further along the shadows are gone

The road withered with cracks.

Death has come to look for a pawn,

Life is now not longer a fact.

Now turn around, what is that you see?

The life you once lead

Go ahead look for a plea,

Because death has no mercy for thee.
