No longer Me

The girl that was me is no longer me
The girl that was me always wanted to sing and dance
But the older she got the reality she saw was only a dream
The girl that was me had many friend and came home happy after each school day
But she got older and just stop coming home happy
The girl that use to be me would always reach out when she had a problem or needed help
But she got older and learn to hold back her tongue
This happy, dependent, beautiful girl grew up to be sad, independent, ugly woman
But that ok
I grew up and saw what I needed to see
And that girl use to be me will never be me
