Nightscape

An endless night, cold and dark

Though sometimes stars are seen

But always cold, always night

And I don't remember when

I last saw the sun.

In that night, as I recall

There are changes in light

And location

Think of a lake, sometimes floating

Picture a lake, sometimes sinknig

But always struggling

In my nightscape, I am alone

Without a friend, without a hope

But also without fear and sadness

There is only dark and water

And my struggle to stay alive.

Sometimes, during the starry times,

I have a shadow, a guide

But then it goes away

And I am alone again

And my stars go away.

And when my stars are gone

I need to fight a little harder

Against the icy depths of my lake

Sometimes I grow tired

I don't have the strength  to go on

But I have no will to give up

In the recent hours of my endless night

I see more starts, more light

Could it be the sun is rising?

Could it be my night is ending?

Could it be the shore is approaching?

Truly I tell you my wishes

I wish I could see the sun

I wish I could walk a field

I wish I could feel something

Truly I tell you I hope

(Though this night is beautiful)

That I will soon see the day.
