The Night's Keepers

We rise with our mother moon
The trees rustle their goodbye
Even thought we number in thousands
We make no noise
Through soundless cries we report
All is clear

Keepers of the night
We protect
All who fall under our wings
Our domain
Ever safe
Death is our master

Chilling fear
Misery
Suffering
No more

Once great in the eyes
Of those below
Now a simple
Bedtime story

The stars light our way
Comfort our lonely existence
We are forgotten
Yet we fly on

The darkness our family
The duty, our life
As sliver feathers fall
They sprinkle glittering upon our charges
A small gift of moonlight
To soothe the heart
Calm minds

Keepers of the night
We protect
All who fall under our wings
Our domain
Ever safe
Death is our master

Chilling fear
Misery
Suffering
No more

Existence never lasts
Without
The Night’s Keepers
