Nightmares
Demise and despair
Is what I’m drowning in
A bottomless pit beyond the depths of solitude
Its essence I confide in
Outside my comfort lurks malice
Erasing sweet dreams with brutal nightmares
In a cold sweat I awake
Their voices still in my mind
They feel so near
I just close my eyes
Completely consumed by darkness
To the light I am blind

The line "A bottomless pit beyond the depths of solitude" is full of imagery and really makes the reader think of the situation of the poem and the pain and fear you feel.
