The Night Grandpa Left Us Here On Earth

Fri, 02/03/2023 - 22:32 -- jsixel

The night you left us here on earth

You didn’t tell us you’d be going,

There was no goodbye kiss

No time to tell you what you’d miss.

You didn’t give us time to cry our last few tears

The night you left us here on earth.

The night you left us here on earth

Heaven was awaiting,

The angels were singing

God was beaming.

But we were broken,

Empty,

Lost,

Without your smiling face

In our hearts you left a space

The  night you left us here on earth.

The night you left us here on earth

You went to meet the others-

Others who were lost too early,

A mother, father, son.

Although you have won

The rest of us have lost one

Who made the world turn,

If only you would return

We whispered to ourselves

The night you left us here on earth.
