Night Envy

Location

How I wish I was the pillow on your bed

Where your thoughts are coaxed

From your weary head

Where your soft cheek lays

And you warmth, it stays

And your conscience's troubles all are shed

How I wish I was the evening sky

That listens to your sleepy sigh

That hears your dreams

And thoughts unseen

And gently sings you lullabies

How I wish I was the blanket of stars

Whose light bends down to kiss your scars

Upon whose fall you wish

And sparkle you smile along with

Whose secrets fill the corners of your heart

How jealous, how envious I become of the night

When all you do is within its sight
