New Horizons

In circles, we go around and around

Inadvertently choosing to frown

It’s the lurking fear we just cannot face,

And so we choose to stay in this place

Unfortunately the ship that stays in the harbor

Is also the one that encounters no new water

And the songbird that is locked away

Struggles to have anything new to say

So if I catch sight of a dream,

I will chase it

I’ll walk the whole world,

let it strip my soul naked

The beauty in life is that we make our decisions

And I want to follow all of these bold visions

With these steps that I’ve traveled,

With these choices I’m making

I've figured my future is mine for the taking
