all the lovely words

in the world

cannot mend this.

all the softest feelings

cannot bandage the

jagged anger

piercing through.

unable to fix

what was broken

as the fragmented nature

was what it was.

and now it's gone.

every song must end

no matter how many times we replay it.

every message cannot be sent

no matter how many times we want to relay it

sometimes the walls we built

are the ones that will save us.

every life must end

no matter how long we try to delay it

every memory will fade

even the ones that might have saved us

from what?

We'll never know.
