Nay Nay Go Away

Location

Constant whispers in my ear telling me defeat is imminent

Dragging me down to their level of unsophistication and doubt.

How do I believe I can make a difference when no one will listen?

When words of encouragement are masked by sarcasm and jealous anger?

Society thrives on conformity. How can one speak up with an opinion that differs

from another knowing that he/she will be ridiculed for it?

I shall not weep for the world's harsh injustices. I shall not let these naysayers

dictate my future. I WILL NOT let them decided what's best for me, for only I

know myself, no matter what society thinks I should become.

The sweet nectar of truth will be my armor against the world. And one day, people

will break free of their sameness and join me in the land of milk-and-honey where

opinions are heard without judgement, words are spoken without hate, and voices

may speak with the confidence of wisdom-ripened elders.

Come join me, won't you?
