Nature Preserves

Fri, 11/25/2016 - 13:56 -- gamer23

The ice freezes everything in place.

Oh, how I wish it could do the same

To the city

Behind my callused face.

Marching on “trails”

Covered with white blankets,

He notices a sudden shine of gray

Beside a rock marked with “J & J”

He stops in his tracks.

“Nature’s Preserves” the cracked can reads.

Nature preserves “Nature’s Preserves,”

And the man eats

Of crushed and chopped

Apricots and apples

With a hunger

That would make sharks

Jealous.
