My Yearning

Fri, 03/13/2020 - 00:58 -- Wit

As night turns into day, the world is illuminated
Not by the sun, but by the beautiful smile you wear
Its radiance
warm and comforting
Oh, how I wish
How I wish, to one day wake up beside it
Oh, the aching
The aching of my soul, to one day wake up
And taste,
taste the sweet loveliness of your smile directly from the source
Its fire, hungry and all consuming!
Its kiss,
Soft and tender
Wild and untamed
But for now,
For now, I rest my fingers upon your skin and caress your throat
Absorbing what is the beautiful melody of your voice, from your vocal cords
Blessing the world, with a sound that is
Absolutely lovely, only because, it is all you!
As you hum  and sing to a tune that brings you joy
The vibrations of your being
Like tinkering glass
Skittering from your throat to my fingertips
Down my arm, and expanding like a wildfire
Spreading across my body
Demanding the consumption of my soul
As it imbues my entirety
With the beauty
The beauty that is you!
