My Year

Clinging to crutches

setbacks and grudges,

broken

not only my knee but from melancholic clutches.

Dissatisfied,

I sought my mind to gratify

To change for the better

To heal this mind of mine

I ran for miles

Not only on my road but from the line of best fit

I came back

Cutting myself no slack

I worked hard

Only my improvements to track

I learned a lot

And I’ve given much thought

To my future

So why not give it a shot?

I struggle with confidence and stress

And yes it is a mess

But my life lay ahead

So I’ll wait for the rest.

This year changed me and it may take awhile

But I’ll live my life and make the most of it.
