My Superwoman, Jane Goodall

Wed, 02/05/2020 - 13:52 -- em0926

Warm hands gliding through their coarse, black hair

Warm stares coming from their dark, endless eyes

Cold breeze sweeping through all of them, so bare

And happy greetings through all the good times

Long days and countless nights

Short chances and endless attention

She stayed with them, rid of fright

And gave everything for pure observation

She knows them more than they know her

As she watched them grow and learn

Although they learn from each other

Their movements seem of another

What I want is nothing more or less

Then the experiences she worked up to

I want to work with what, to me, is the best

Because no one else wants to face the issue

What many don’t know is animals are like people too

They need room to play and learn and speak

And yes, some don’t know they argue

I want to be like her, Jane Goodall

A woman who worked the way I dream

I want to be like her and do it all

Noone even knows how much it means

I love nature and everything within it

And I want to be the one to respect it

I want to be the one who learns to teach

That animals are more than what we speak

She’s not only my inspiration but my role model too

I dream to be her, a zoologist, but not in a zoo

I am nothing less than passionate and open

And I hope that one day I will be like her, my superwoman
