To My Shattered Friend

When your feelings are built up, and you don’t know what to say.

Write it out, make a rhyme, and let it all out

When your head is spinning ‘round, and your thoughts come rushing in

Settle in, grab a pen, and jot it on down

Your heart may break. Your soul will shatter. Loss may be too much to handle.

Cry it out, breathe again, let it all sink in

It’s not in the way you write it, we want the meaning behind it.

Take a chance, give it time, poetry’s right beside you.

Don’t you dare say sorry, we know you’re feeling broken

Take your time, try to heal, make your new beginning.
