My School Daze.

Still in high school

So I can't really pledge for anything yet

I don't even pledge my allegiance for my country

Why don't we have a pledge for the broke, the scared, and the hungry?

I often have awesome thoughts of building this great community

Where ebonics is spoken freely and fluently

Where no one cares who or what you are

Not the best at everything, but no matter what you’re still a star

Come out of the dark

We raise the bar

Lookin for greatness you don't have to look far

So what I don't have any loot hidden in my bra or boot

Scared because hands up, back to face and they still shoot

Scared of color but can't win this race

Can't keep up, pick up the pace

I see these things in my school daze

Classmates get lost in purple haze

I look at my people and see so many ways we

Survive he might look broke but he got 5 kids 2 jobs pray and pray on his knees and he’s still a hero in his kids eyes

Yeah, look past stereotypes and lies because like Ashanti said “we will rise”

If you didn't realize I’m a bit different

In 1988 they’d call me a jigaboo because of my natural hair and my pigment,

I don't mind, a jigaboo I'll be

All I need is a Dap to take care of the Rachel inside of me

School daze oh school daze

Give them the sight to see that

Just because the lighter Armani

Is prettier than darker me

It doesn't take away from the queen I will one day be

That in this time

In my rhyme I

Will shine, survive, strive to  thrive

Keep that grind

Chase that money bag

No matter who tries to hold me back

Barack and Michelle

Did it and so will

I, pray for my wings

Yall watch me fly

People will know the name of Armani Wright

The jigaboo

And not because of the latest Curry or Kobe shoe

But because she made a difference

Yes i’m different but that's because i'm me

And you can only be you

even if you got the magic Jordan shoe

You wanna be like Mike so bad you forget the great life you already had

Be you

Be the change

Fall and get up

Come on pup

Keep pushing don't give up

Even when you get struck

Get the right education

Without the lies the school books promote

Open your EYES young

Kings and Queens and

Stay Woke.
