" My Say"

After the writer's retreat
the poet, who I so admire-
( the one who organized it)
began an online forum.
And this features
questions and answers
commentary and critique...
My own in-depth questions
were of
discursiveness,
the rhetorical and didactic
- problem areas for me,
since I tend to rant on
whether speaking or writing
especially on society and politics.
Impassioned, carried away
I wonder how to reel myself
in-
and not lose my listeners,
readers...
The poet's answers were
cryptic like a Buddha,
philosophical, and not so much related
to craft.
Still, I didn't mind
I will learn somehow
to maintain
cohesion
both in my multilayered
poetry
as well as words spoken-
to not be the fiery,
gesticulating orator...
I'll follow any advice
though not bend
my views
I'll remain outspoken,
step on some toes
but still be respectful...
The poet's aim is to be
understood
( clarity equals a correct
interpretation.)
So let all hear my say!

This poem is about:
Me
Our world

Hi  dear lady,,, In the ocean of poetry ,,poems ,,,rhyme,,there must be many a writer left floundering in the dark waters of our time ,should we just accept and realise the sea is large and empty and just write for ourselves.?

The ocean of poetry is indeed large, though anything but empty... it is filled with diverse voices representing varied styles, techniques, themes etc. No writer should write for themselves solely- there is also the reader. Although writing is a form of catharsis, affirmation and so much more- and empowers the self. This is why all literature is a blend of so many ideas and perspectives, therein is its beauty.
