My passing

Death is only a heartbeat away
From melting like deep red wax
And a candlelight vigil
The hearse draws near funeral pyres
Yet to be lit in homeage
Showing respect to a life that passed
Don't be aghast
At the body caressed in fire
The flames carry the spirit upward
In plumes of reverant smoke
Billowing ever hire
To be camouflaged by wayward clouds
The ashes float like snowflakes
That crash towards the Earth in droves
And fertilize the braying soil
Like a bull rider thrown to the floor,.......
It was always inevitable
It's not a matter of if, but when
And perchance even how
I'd like to be collected into a ceramic jar
With no name on it
And mixed into the vast blueness
Or thrown from the highest mountain tops
And carried away by a starving breeze
As I say she ate the gusts
Quenching their most basic primal needs
I hope they dance around my grave
Singing music happily
My passing is to be celebrated
No fitful tears or tragic eulogies please
I want my stay in the minds of those I love
To be remembered by joy and gladness
I want smiles in gratitude
Like little love notes on my casket
I want all of my secrets kept
So sew your lips together
And take along fulfilling breath
I'll be watching from above
Counting your every step
I'll put in a good word to the Lord for you
I'll be living with him and love
We'll dote Over your every selfless act on judgement day
I'll be sure to bring them up
