My Niece

When you smile, it brings joy to the small things,

Every precious step you take,

The joys your blue-eyes brings,

Your small laugh sounds something like spring.

You’re like a little sea shell,

So perfect in every way,

So precious like a church bell.

Granddaughter of an O’Dell.

You are my niece,

My dear, Alexandria,

The missing puzzle piece,

You’re going to be the one to make peace

You are loved,

By your aunt and everyone else,

Those who hurt you will be shoved,

Because you are not unloved.
