To My Mirror

Dear Mirror,

Your blank surface exposes all

You stare back at me searching into my soul

You whisper words of poison into my ear

The slide up my back like a strange snake

The words are quiet but scream

The voices get closer but they all sound like my own

As the light reflects off of you, you point out each imperfection

"You're much to big you know"

"Your way too loud"

"If you weren't so bold maybe a guy would look your way"

I shut my eyes but the reflection stares back at me still the same

"Maybe you should"

"Perhaps you can"

"You probably shouldn't"

The crack of the mirror echoes in my ears

I  can feel the blood driping down my fingers

I should probably get a new mirror

Sincerely, Christen
