To my lover and friend

Sometimes I lose sight of who I am
Holding back my flooding emotions like a dam.
Lost in a world of unfamiliar faces
I search for myself in the most unlikely places.
Constantly trying to escape the weight of the world
Until finally I'm crushed to my soul and on the floor I'm curled.
Drained of ambition and emotionally worn
Unable to even crawl like a baby recently born.
My forced smile no longer plastered on my face
But I come alive again when met by your sweet embrace.
No longer stumbling around in the darkness of my mind
Instead I'm lost in your eyes that are so gentle and kind.
Your delicate and smooth skin reminds my heart to feel
And your soft sweet lips takes away my every breath even still.
Your smile has taught me to love again
And your devilish words has my body urging to sin.
In your presence I wish to always stand
Forever and always hand and hand.
