My Life Is A Presidential Election

The platforms are my heels, votes garnered with the slick smile on my face.

Pristine pearls and playful pins make my ballots better.

Gentile and firm are my handshakes, and I swaddle wailing newborns,

all for a tiny checkmark.

Posters and picketers in my yard, PETA finally unlocked the zoo.

Polls soar, and signs multiply like overheated rabbits.

Swallow and grin,

leave issues for Reader’s Digest,

campaign fever has already made its way around the cabinet.
