My Life Is Origami

In origami, one fold leads to a shape,

and that cycle repeats itself over and over again

until the final product is created.

Who knew that one blank square piece of paper,

something so bland and so common,

could turn itself into a swan, a crane, a peacock,

and all it takes are simple and complex folds

to create such uniqueness.

My life is the same exact way.

I, at one point, was nothing but a blank piece of paper.

Boring, right?

Yet every step and moment in my journey to discover myself

was a fold of the paper.

Sometimes it ripped while other times it was a perfect crease.

When it ripped, I kept going;

nothing would stop me from finding myself,

my inner being.

I'm still folding, still finding myself,

but the shape I have now resembles who I am:

I am creative and artistic,

caring and compassionate,

courageous and strong,

loving and helpful,

and so much more.

I may be different from everyone else,

but that is what makes me special,

and I won't let anyone take that away from me.

I am more than a picture on the computer,

or on someone's phone,

or on social media.

I am who I am.

In origami, I use 2D paper to create a 3D model.

In my life journey, I create myself,

a girl with dreams and imagination,

and a girl who wants to make a difference in the world

by helping those in need.
