My Instagram Can Lie.

Location

In today's world, filters and lighting are all that matter.

Mirrors and cameras are idolized.

I am no exception.

I worry over what I look like before school or after dance practice.

But what happens when we take off the filter, the edits, the stupid captions?

We become someone we don't face every day.

With the filter, I have a perfectly white teeth and bright blue eyes.

I have a smile that says nothing can hurt me.

Behind the filter, I am a girl with not white enough teeth.

My eyes are dull.

My smile can be fake.

Behind the filter, I am a stronger person that anyone ever realizes.

Behind the filter, I reach highs and lows that are sometimes difficult to come back from.

Behind the filter, I am not who everyone thinks I am.

I am a girl with a drive for more than a few likes on a picture.

I am a girl with ambition and motivation to do more with my life than make myself famous on social media.

Behind the filter, I am more.
