My Goodbye

Location

The caps fly up
After we cross the stage
Our parents cry and say we're all grown up
At 18 years we don't think about age
But this is the end of many years
And here's my goodbye to linger in your ears

It's a goodbye that I'll hold inside
One that'll never leave your mind
A memory of a good ole time
Or one of a moral crime
It's a goodbye that'll take you high
To a place where live laugh and love fly high in the sky
Yeah don't cry
oh this is my goodbye

My goodbye reminds you of our first hello
My goodbye will dry your watering eyes
My goodbye brings you from your all time low
Oh this is my goodbye
I hope you remember all the times
Before I wrote my goodbye

It's a goodbye that I'll hold inside
One that'll never leave your mind
A memory of a good ole time
Or one of a moral crime
It's a goodbye that'll take you high
To a place where live laugh and love fly high in the sky
Yeah don't cry
oh this is my goodbye

Remember the time we walked into school
We were the bottom of the chain
Oh but we thought we were so cool
And how now we are through
And how I still can call your name
And no you'll rush like a fool
This is my goodbye
But know on the inside that for you it's I'll see you soon

It's a goodbye that I'll hold inside
One that'll never leave your mind
A memory of a good ole time
Or one of a moral crime
It's a goodbye that'll take you high
To a place where live, laugh, and love fly high in the sky
Yeah don't cry
oh this is my goodbye

Oh and now we take another step
Into this journey called life
I hope my goodbye is a memory safe kept
And I hope my goodbye stays sharp in your mind
Oh this is my goodbye
Oh this is my goodbye
