To My Gem

Sun, 12/31/2017 - 12:11 -- KurtC

The distance between us is long and far,

of which we have traveled many times.

For all the things I wish for, I get,

so long as I still see you shine.

I cannot promise you with riches and gold,

only my love and care.

Despite all the odds, you stand by my side,

a maiden, calm and fair.

You let loose the anger that I may not release,

my worries, my fears, let loose to fly.

For if you were not brought into my world,

I would not speak, just sigh.

I do not ask of all the world from you,

not riches, homes, or realms.

For all the world, I would not give

my one and only gem.
