My Friend

Location

I remember the day I went to get

my friend, he was small but, of course I  wasn't

any bigger. His soft dense coat was black as the dark night.

His chest was white as the fresh snow that falls during

the coldest season but, with odd black spots spread

on that tiny chest that made him so unique.

When I first saw him I immediately made a connection.

The first thoughts that came to my mind were,

he will grow big and strong. Just as

a mother wishes their children the best in life.

We walked home together

so closely getting to now each other.

Telling one another how life would be if we lived together.

I told him he would have his own

bedroom. He would only look at me with

misunderstanding with a look of confusion. Those dark eyes

penetrated me and made me immensely happy.

Time would only tell how great friends we

would become. Only death would separate us

but would never break our bound of friendship.
