My Father

My Father

By: Ariel Tapia

My father is my hero

He has given up so much

his education, his childhood, and his family.

My father left school in the sixth grade

and he started to work.

My father told me that either he would eat or his siblings

would and he would always choose his siblings.

My father left his home and family when he was fourteen.

He went to find better work and most of his money would go to his family.

My father then met my mother and he said he fell in love.

Time passed by and my mother also fell in love.

I was born and my father said I was one of the best things that have happened to him.

My father had to then start working more to support not only me but also his family.

My father left for America for two years so that he could find a better job.

He would send most of his money to his family and to me and my mother.

He came back and a year later I became an older sister.

My father did not want me and my sister to go through what he had.

We came to America for better opportunities.

My father continues to work hard.

He has tried to give me and my sisters everything we've wanted.

My father always encourages me to go to school and to become someone in life.

I plan to do so because I want to make him proud.

My father has given up so much in life but he has never given up on me.

My father is my hero and he always will be.
