My Father

I scream as my sanity cries out for the one thing to fill the cavity that has been left in my chest.

I cry as I know my chance was stolen from me. Stolen by the selfishness of the women who birthed me.

My screams soften, and my tears dry. Sixteen years not a word.

Yet now here before me, standing tall with tear filled eyes.

Is the person I've longed for, the entirety of my life.

The one they said left me, yet they gave him no other choice.

The father I have longed for, for sixteen empty years.

In his eyes I look up to see, the love and adoration I have always drempt in dreams.
