My Eyes Adore You

I see luscious lips that speak a rough tone,

A faded, clean-cut of a serviceman,

Beautiful eyes that’ll turn you to stone,

A rugged body with a golden tan.

5          Stamina and strength of resilient men.

A handsome, cocky smile from ear to ear.

And a hint of his Armani cologne’s scent.

His type would chill with the boys and drink beer.

Others see a man far from an angel,

10        But I see eyes of bottomless scope.

A man who invites trouble and danger,

In my head, he’s the one who gives “us” hope.

But they don’t see his loving, loyal heart

Yet. I thank God for you, a fine work of art.
