Mother's Medicine

A heaviness surrounds a once vibrant soul

Its back now turned from old passions

Glued to the bed, a foggy mind reaches for the fan

Falling off the bed, the wind points its fingers towards the window

The light sneaks into the room- playfully dancing upon my eyes

Its enticing movements beckons me out the darkness that enshrouded

The view provides a promise that prompts salivation

Lured out the door- I have answered my calling

My obedience is rewarded with warm kisses

Causing my skin to radiate

My body is caressed with a cooling wave

Engulfing me with reassuring calmness

My eyes are gifted with a delicate painting

That would disperse if I was to invade its softness

The stillness of noise demands me to bask in its beauty

Life kisses me and I dare not break the moment with a cacophony of words

A melody flies in, as if celebrating our consummation

And I carry my new-found lightness through the door

It lends the ability to float through the house with relaxed eyes

I sit to my desk - falling like a feather

And begin to write.
