morning run

Location

streetlamps reflect off the wet asphalt

orange leaves lay scattered on the ground

the air is wet

the breeze is crisp

hands are cold

feet are warm

blood pounding through my fingertips

circulating through my body

throbbing in my toes

the beat of my heart

the beat of my feet

my breath crystallizing in the air

the air is cold

the breeze is crisp

hands are throbbing

feet are warm

burning calves

ragged breath

quicker steps

a ray of sun

streetlamps go out

orange leaves burning

on the asphalt

the air is golden

the breeze is crisp

hands are red

feet are numb

the sun is shining

feet are tired

breath is gone

the air is clean

the breeze is fresh

hands are warm

my feet want more
