the moon, my love

She showed me how to look on the bright side.

She showed me how to change the tide.

She showed me how to appreciate my fullness.

She showed me how to adore the darkness.

Even when it’s like she’s not there,

I can still feel her love and care.

Even when her light is gone,

I know still it’s us her eyes are upon.

An object in the night sky.

A light that we can see by.

A chariot that we watch soar.

A mother, a protector, a mentor.
