The Monster That Starves Me

"How worthless could you be foolish girl?"

Look in the mirror and see, the imperfections magnified 

You don't look like her, that girl on the cover page, nearly perfect, with flaws removed

Her body perfectly sculpted by the editing tools

No bumps, no crevices

The monster is too strong 

So you cannot see

That a canyon wouldn't be as magnificent without the jagged lines

The dark clouds surround this elegant canyon

Her real beauty, not the mocking and ridicule from the mirror

But the beauty that caresses her like a finely draped cloth

Her skin, smoother than silk, her body in harmony with her voice

She cannot see the twinkle in her eyes when she speaks of what she loves

She cannot see the way her nose crinkles when she laughs and awakes the light in the room

So she follows the steps to lead to no jagged lines

As the monster inside her comes to haunt her when she looks in the mirror

Swallowed in by her clothes

Then she sl

For the path perfectly sculpted, did not have the crevices to keep her standing tall
