Monster-In-Law

The need to care,

Constantly there,

It appears out of thin air,

And it looks at you and dares

You to look away and not recognize your emotions.

But no matter how hard you try to fix

And twist

And turn your way out of it,

Its always there.

When one comes along

Who isn’t strong

And makes everything all wrong

You wonder how they can’t care

How they won’t care

And how they can survive.

With their world full of strife

That cuts you life a knife

And makes you insane within an inch of your life.

The definition of a mother in your world

Is not this image of this girl.

Who is twisted by sickness and greed

And many more evils that don’t let her succeed in life.

And as she ruins your perfect world of love

With her chaos and terror that rains down from above.

You look up and plea

And cry

And hate

And question the world what did you do to deserve this fate?

Just as you thought you had the stresses of the world under your control,

Under your grasp,

This terror of a mother comes out of the grass

And bites you like a poisonous snake.

And her fangs dig deep

Poisoning your heart of love

Into a black thing of hate.

And as the powers of good and evil battle,

They fight for the world’s attention

And you are stuck in this tug-of-war

That sickens you to think that this is now a permanent worry in your life.

And all you can do is hope

That love

Will conquer

All
