Monster

Inside of this home, a child.
Sitting and weeping, softly.
Beside the sad child, a beast.
Curled up and bleeding, in darkness.
They comfort the child, warmly.
While the beast cries, tears of blood.
Emotional scars left, on the mind.
They take the child home, to safety.
They leave the beast to die, painfully.
The child finds a new caretaker, so loving.
They burn the beast tonight, no goodbye.
Attending the funeral pyre, a child.
The child watches and waits, smiling.
Then the child goes home, unsuspecting victim.
Inside of this home, a child.
Sitting and weeping, softly.
Beside the sad child, a beast.
Curled up and bleeding, a caretaker.
