To the Monster

To the monster inside of me,

You’ve had your fun,

You thought you prevailed,

You thought you had won.

I never thought it would end,

Didn’t think I could leave,

I was trapped inside my mind,

No one ever believed.

But the tables have turned,

You seem to have lost,

I’m sorry to break it to you,

But you’re no longer the boss.

You no longer have control,

I have rid you, my old friend,

This is me telling you, anxiety,

Your reign is coming to an end.

So run away and pout, just let me be,

This will be the last you will hear from me.

So farewell to you, my captor, my enemy,

Sincerely, the better me.
