Mona Lisa Smile

Location

Do you remember the Mona Lisa smile?

An “advanced” woman shooting for her own.

Regardless of living husbandless and alone.

Do you remember the Mona Lisa smile?

Where is it was alright to pick up the phone and dial

Calling out for your rights as a woman.

Believing in a career focused life,

Instead of a being a quiet wife.

Living for a sole man,

And only cooking as only you can.

Do you remember the Mona Lisa smile?

Where a woman knows she can do so much more

Than allow the tradition to downpour

Striving to be more than just a file,

In a little drawer, hoping for only a mile.

Do you remember the Mona Lisa smile?

Being a woman is more than you think.

It’s about learning to speak,

And forgetting his deceit.

I can do more than just cook recipes

And clean your bed sheets.

Do you remember the Mona Lisa smile?

Yeah, you better because it’ll be gone for awhile.
