Momma

Grew up in a small town

In a different state

Worked her way through college

I can’t relate

Living in the cold

Those winter days

Came to California

To find those summer rays

Spent a lot of time near the beach

Eventually found that person

That makes her complete

She got married

Then had me

I’m adopted though

But that doesn’t mean a thing

Because she’s the greatest thing that could’ve ever happened to me

So what

She couldn’t have her own kid

That didn’t stop her from living the life she wanted to live

Neither did having a husband that’s ill in bed

Teaching young kids how to read and write

All the stuff that’s considered important in life

She’s all about education

That’s the reason I’m here

She helped me get this far

I’m trying to make this clear

My momma is who I’m thankful for

Who knows where I’d be

Without her here.
