A Moment to Fall

Frigid air touches me with an invisible hand,
For this is more than I can withstand.
Wings, wings of an Angel cascade down my back,
They keep me warm, but there's something I lack.

My feet are cold and I'm petrified,
I couldn't move even if I tried.
Nostalgia embraces me, I'm not going to lie.

I don't want to move or let go of the past,
There are not enough moments to make it last.

I'm scared and the only place I can escape is by dreaming,
I'm afraid if I let go I shall lose all meaning.

As I stare down at the excruciating height,
I pull in a breath of the cold fall night.

My days of watching time and light I recall,
I spread my wings and jump, with no time to stall.
Now the question is,
Will I land? Or will I fall?
