Moles

Is she there now?

Laying next to you and tracing the little moles on your back like I used to?

Does she lay next to you while you’re watching movies and notice how your glasses tilt a little too far to the left?

does she lay her head on your chest and Listen to the deep shallow breaths.

Does she hold your hand while you sleep?

Do you snuggle up and intertwine your feet? Does she rub your arms and scratch your back like you like?

Does she play with your hair?

Does she even care?

Does she love you the way I did?

Does she dream about your warm body next to hers.

Does she look at you and see all the perfect little curves?

Is she better than me?

Is that why you decided to Go away and rip my heart out and throw it away?

I remember the time you called me crying and said you needed me and I came rushing over to console you.

I think about that day a lot.

The way you held me like if I let go you might fall apart.

I’d give anything for a fresh new start

but theres nothing I can say to make you feel that way.

theres nothing that can be done to take this pain away.

You’re different.

You wanted something new.

Now I’m gone and Wishing this wasn’t true.

so here I am Ieft laying in bed Wondering  Maybe if I did this or maybe if I said that

I would still be laying next to you right now tracing the little moles on your back.

Comments

Winkle

As everything comes, as anything goes,

As an ant scurries, looking for home,

As crickets chirp and beavers chomp

As lillies grow, deep in the swamp

Even as time passes, obssesively monotone,

Even as you look out the window, feeling alone

As everything comes and anything goes,

You will one day, feel completely whole.

Not my best but it is my response to your poem, from one poet to another. The sadness feels ever consuming and temporary. It feels like your emotions are drowning you. Trust me when I say, you will feel better. Be strong.
