Missing: 160 Million Girls

Unaddressed is the issue of the missing undressed,

Begotten, then torn from this land,

Double X in your genes, you’re a lesser human being,

You ARE shame if you will not be a man.

Forgotten are the hearts of the swiftly departed,

Better off maybe so, maybe not

To be a father’s bane or guest towel stain,

Does it “matter” in the grand human plot?

Unseen by the media, the voices, the masses

Muted by kith and by kin,

Your laughter, a tonic. Our cries, dysphonic.

Oh chagrin, where can we begin?
