Misled

We’ve come so far, yet it’s easy to see

We’re living this misleading dream

First it was this white picket fence, to designate our space

Now we’re pushing each other in our own place

The banter, the violence, and the inequality amongst all

Shows us that maybe our morality has taken a hard fall

You can’t stand here and preach about how we have to stand together

When you won’t even look at your neighbor

Maybe we’ve become so absorbed in ourselves

That it’s hard to understand, we’re harming someone else

There could be a light at the end of the tunnel, if only we’d remember

That together, we’re a whole lot better

One country, one dream and though a may be misleading

What’s the problem with us believing?
