Mis-Matched

Wooden,
As a chopped down tree.
Placed in the fire
To burn in the greatest mistakes of this life.
Cycle.
Burn,
And cool off.
Burn,
And cool off.
Remaining covered in the ashes of lessons learned,
Only to spread onto the roots
Of the tree that comes next.
The seed.
A wooden one,
Already splintered.
