Mirror ... mirror

1 Corinthians 13:12

12 For now, we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

Who ... Me?

Mirror, mirror on the wall ... really tell me who am I?

Am I the shell I see ... filled with self over self?

Is there no one to call ... who knows more than my wife?

She knows me inside out ... as she picks me from the shelf.

A face as a mask ... simply caught in a solemn grimace

hiding the deeper nature and the weeds growing within.

Almost a permanent cast with repetition as its solace

always moving on ... to the places I have already been.

Planning an escape ... with the folks who got me here

covering with ointment ... all the blisters in my life.

Almost like the ape ... caught in opportunity’s sphere

seemingly ignored every day ... instigating inner strife.
