Mind matters

Romans 8:5-6

For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh,

but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.

For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

Mind matters

The mind absorbs quick and near

opinions and thoughts of others.

The answers come quick and clear

before my heart can absorb it.

Right or wrong my mind can't admit

that it does not care one way or the other

as long as it finds itself in the midst

of adoration in purpose from others.

It will not share or give up its place

although it will never admit that

as it dominates the human race

excusing failure ... like a pack rat.

It cannot do ... what it cannot

as it searches for ways to improve

the things God presented through the flood

and its effect all the way through through.

Of the parts which survived judgment

the mind, the body and soul.

The mind is the greatest obstruction

to make a person whole.

It tramples the heart without mercy

for it wants flesh’s will to be done.

Quick and fast very much in a hurry

so the heart has no time to control.

The issues of life which are pressing

to find answers founded on love.

in a place without second guessing

directed to the spirit from above.

The heart by itself can't make it.

it takes the strength of our Lord to subdue

that mind through the plan of salvation

is mindless and really has no clue.

Even the purpose of the Lord in life's motion

are explained by the mind to the core.

It will try to do it without revelation

because in waiting for that it gets bored.

It seems like it takes forever

before the mind listens to the heart,

but through prayer to Jesus, He'll sever

your mind from that worldly part.

So the answers are all in Jesus

without Him all that's left is wrath.

is wrath dressed up in great beauty

for the old mind is truly obsessed.

Soul...body… and spirit in oneness

is great gain if in Christ they reside

but without Jesus there’s only darkness

that the mind will call a great light.
