In the Midst

In The Midst”

His howl
Soared across
The blue hued
Town
Tinted with black oil

Or so we thought
We quiver
Its shoulders and hips
Roll toward us

Like that oil
Rolling, expanding
Faster than we
Want it to

It’s silhouetted,
Blond highlighted Banes,
Bronze-yellow Spheres
Hosted dark pupil daggers

And with those
Spheres
He studied us
With the silhouette
Leaning behind
Those spheres

Targeting us
We cringe away
Back away
Farther away please!

But he rolls faster we
Than want him to
He howls again
His snout aimed toward ground
His head rolls forward
As his menacing wail
Rumbles city windows

This time it
Echoes back

The army of welps
Woops and…. Laughs
They’re known cowards
Yet they fear not
They appear
Not laughing
Observing, eerie

They crept closer
Quiet giants sniff
At delicate trinkets

We’re trapped
And .. he is
Alpha
Of creatures
Big as 2 horses

Alpha…can dwarf Tyrano
It looms above us all

We slip on black oil
It rolled faster
Than we wanted it to

We never seen
Pearl daggers
Cast a moonlight sheen…

On us....
